Dr. Benner grew up in Belfast, Maine. He graduated with distinction
from Dartmouth College in 1969 with a B.A. in Psychology. Dr. Benner received his Medical Doctorate degree in 1973 from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He completed his Neurosurgery residency in 1978 from the Baylor College of Medicine and Affiliated Hospitals in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Benner began private practice in 1978 at Neurosurgery Specialists as a general neurosurgeon. He provides care to those patients experiencing problems with the brain, the spine, and peripheral nerves such as carpal tunnel and ulnar nerve disorders.
